You may have noticed the dollar amount at the top right of your profile in 3dPrinterOS.
This does not refer to any actual currency, it is instead a way of limiting the amount of printing individual accounts do. Each "Dollar" is equivalent to one gram of filament. A new account is given $1000 (1kg of filament) to print whatever they would like. Once that has depleted, email sse.m2z@ucalgary.ca and ask to replenish your 3dprinterOS dollars. This system will be further optimized in the coming months as the system gets used more and more, and we analyze the usage statistics. For now, it is just another way to keep track of the amount of filament individuals use, and creates a barrier to abusing the systems.
We also want to ensure that everyone gets a chance at 3D printing so each person is only allowed to have 3 prints queued up at any given time. Additionally you can only queue 20 prints in a month, so please plan accordingly.
