Electrical Makerspace safety information
In the event of an evacuation, use the stairs to go outside. The assembly point is the MSC North Atrium.
The nearest fire extinguisher is located just inside the door, to your right as you exit the room.
The nearest first aid kit is located within the room, near the sink.
The nearest fire alarm pull is beside the door as you exit towards MacEwan Student Centre (Mac Hall).
The nearest AED is just outside of ENG 24.
General electrical safety
When working in the Electrical Makerspace, please keep in mind the following safety considerations:
- Do not work with electricity if your hands are wet
- Always watch for damaged electrical wire (frayed cords)
- Do not attempt to repair equipment yourself
- If you receive a shock, please turn off the equipment and let the supervising staff know before turning it on again
- Do not overload circuits by using multiple outlets on regular sockets
- Always make sure to turn off power before adjusting your circuit
