Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals

Candidates for the Azure Fundamentals certification should have foundational knowledge of cloud services and how those services are provided with Microsoft Azure. This certification is intended for candidates who are just beginning to work with cloud-based solutions and services or are new to Azure.

Since there are tons of learning resources about Microsoft Azure on the web, rather than creating a tutorial from scratch, we have hand-picked the best resources to get you started on Azure.

Do you want to get the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification? If so, follow these steps:

1. Sign up for a free Azure account. Students will receive $100 free credit for Azure services.

2. Complete the learning material suggested in this tutorial. If you would like additional resources, you can fill out the sign-up form below and we will send you an Azure Fundamentals book to work on hands-on activities using Azure resources and get ready for the exam.

3. Take the "Microsoft Azure Fundamentals" exam (see more info below).

4. You're done! Upon passing the exam you will be issued the "Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals" certification.

Exam AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals

The certification exam measures the following skills:

  • Describe cloud concepts (20-25%)
  • Describe core Azure services (15-20%)
  • Describe core solutions and management tools on Azure (10-15%)
  • Describe general security and network security features (10-15%)
  • Describe identity, governance, privacy, and compliance features (20-25%)
  • Describe Azure cost management and Service Level Agreements (10-15%)
