gedit
nano is commonly known for not being user-friendly when programming or editing complex code. One of the reasons is due to being limited to using the arrow keys to navigate through lines, when most people would prefer to use the mouse pointer.
An alternative text editor is gedit. It is used the same way as nano except it opens a window where you can edit your text and use your mouse rather than the arrow keys.
