Welcome to the Maker Multiplex and Zetta!

The Maker Multiplex (M2) is a collection of shared workspaces, resources and equipment where ideas come to life. Similarly, Zetta is a hub of digital research and teaching innovation, enabling people to develop integrated digital solutions. The two together are affectionately known as M2Z.

These facilities are open to all University of Calgary students, faculty, and staff.

Getting started

Become a member today! Follow along this General Access Training and successfully pass the associated quiz to get started.

In this General Access Training, we will:

  • Introduce you to all of the spaces within M2 and Zetta and describe the purpose of these spaces.
  • Outline expectations and basic ground rules for users of these facilities.
  • Cover general safety information.
  • Explain the basic process for how to access/book the different spaces and equipment.

After reading through this guide, there will be a short quiz that you must complete (via D2L). A waiver must also be signed and submitted prior to using any of the spaces. Once you have passed the quiz, you will receive an email notifying you about what to do next. After you have completed all the necessary steps, you will receive an email notifying you of successful enrollment as an M2Z member.
